Course description for Spanish level 1 (beginner)
Duration of the course: 2 weeks, 50 academic hours (45 min) in the mornings,
Contents:
- Pronunciation rules, the alphabet, how to greet and introduce yourself.
- Articles and nouns, singular and plural
- Verbs “ser” and “estar”, talk about origin, profession and spoken languages
- Conjugation of most common regular verbs, to give and obtain information, question words
- To give explanations and to ask for the direction
- The Spanish language in Spain and in Latinamerica
- Numbers
- The verbs “haber”, “estar”, “ser”
- To talk about food
- Weights and measures, how to buy and order food
- Verb “gustar”, to give an opinion, talk about likes and dislikes
- The colors, object pronouns, how to buy clothes
- Adverbs of location, adjectives, how to make simple descriptions
- Irregular verbs with stem changing
- To talk about the family, the Latinamerican family
- Demonstrative pronouns
- The time, possessive pronouns
- The present perfect tense, to express actions in the near past
- To talk about customs in the present
- The reflexive verbs

Level 2

Course description for Spanish level 2 (beginner)
Duration of the course: 2 weeks, 50 academic hours (45 min) in the mornings,

Contents:
- The gerund, present, describing situations
- The present perfect tense (review)
- The preterite tense, regular verbs
- The preterite tense, irregular verbs
- To express actions in the past, use of time markers
- The imperative, positive
- The imperative negative. To give orders, ask for permissions and give permission.
- Vocabulary: parts of the body, going to the doctor.
- To talk by phone
- The imperfect, regular and irregular forms
- Contrast in the use of the past tenses in Spanish
- To narrate in the past, telling stories
- Common words in Venezuela
- Direct and indirect object pronouns
- Contrast of the use of “ser” and “estar”
- The conditional tense
- The prepositions
- The Future, to talk about personal projects
- Present of the subjunctive mood, to give a recommendation or an advice
- Lectures and games according to the level

Intermediate

Course description for Spanish Intermediate
Duration of the course: 4 weeks, 100 academic hours (45 min) in the mornings, in the higher levels the emphasis is in the contrast of the different grammar tenses, the development of higher communication skills, like to argue, give opinions, refuse opinions, to give advices and instructions, talk about contrasting aspects of different cultures, read, analyse, comment and discuss different texts about different topics, mostly texts about Latinamerican countries.
- Contrast of the use of the verbs “ser” and “estar”
- Contrast of the use of the different past tenses
- Uses and forms of the subjunctive mood
- Contrast between indicative and subjunctive mood
- Adverbial conjunctions

Advanced

Course description for Spanish Advanced
Duration of the course: 4 weeks, 100 academic hours (45 min) in the mornings, in this level we will review important aspects of the grammar and analyse aspects of the different Spanish speaking countries.
